For individuals & families
There are more options than the marketplace shows you
If you’re self-employed, between jobs, or paying for a plan you barely use, a traditional individual policy isn’t your only route. Here are three alternatives, what each actually does, and where each one falls short.

Three ways to get covered
Read the caveats as carefully as the benefits. None of these is insurance, and that distinction matters.
Direct primary care membership
Next Level PRIME
A monthly membership covering everyday care — primary care, urgent care, labs, immunizations, behavioral health and coaching — with no cost at the point of visit.
- Unlimited visits, no per-visit charge
- Available seven days a week
- 12-month minimum commitment
Best for
People who use routine care regularly and want predictable costs for it.
Important
Not insurance. Does not cover hospitalization or major medical events.
Health care sharing arrangement
Health sharing
A community cost-sharing program for larger medical bills. Members contribute monthly, and eligible expenses are shared among members.
- Lower monthly contribution than most plans
- No provider network restrictions
- Simple enrollment
Best for
People who want protection against big unexpected bills at a lower monthly cost than a major medical plan.
Important
Not insurance. Sharing is not guaranteed and is not state-regulated or protected.
Both, together
PRIME + health sharing
The two combined: PRIME handles everyday care, sharing handles the large unexpected bills. The pairing most members choose.
- Everyday care and big-bill protection
- One conversation, one enrollment
- Usually less than a comparable individual plan
Best for
People replacing an individual plan entirely and wanting both ends covered.
Important
Neither component is insurance. Read both sets of disclosures before enrolling.
When traditional insurance is still the right answer
These options aren’t right for everyone, and we’d rather tell you that up front than after you’ve enrolled.
If you qualify for a substantial marketplace subsidy, manage a serious ongoing condition, take high-cost specialty medication, or need guaranteed coverage for a planned procedure, a major medical plan is usually the better answer. We’ll tell you so, and we’ll help you find one.
Not sure which applies to you?
That’s the normal starting point. A short call is usually enough to narrow it down — what you have now, what you actually use, and what you’re paying.
