What happens between the first call and day one

Setting up group benefits takes roughly six to eight weeks from first conversation to effective date. Here’s each stage, how long it takes, and what we need from you.

  1. A first conversation

    30 minutes

What you have now, what it costs, what’s prompting the change, and what you’d want if budget weren’t the constraint. No plan documents needed — just a conversation.

What we need from you: Your renewal date and rough employee count.

  2. Discovery and current-state review

    About a week

We look at your existing plan in detail, what your team actually uses, and where the money is going. Often this alone surfaces something worth changing.

What we need from you: Your current plan documents and last renewal summary.

  3. Plan design and market check

    One to two weeks

We take your requirements to the market and come back with real options at real prices — usually three, with the trade-offs between them spelled out plainly.

What we need from you: Nothing. This part is on us.

  4. You decide

    Your timeline

We walk through the options together. If the best answer is to stay where you are, we’ll say so — that happens, and it’s a legitimate outcome.

What we need from you: A decision, once you’re ready.

  5. Eligibility and enrollment setup

Two to three weeks before effective date

This is where we need your employee census. We’ll agree the format and the secure route for sending it before you send anything.

What we need from you: Your eligibility file, handled per our data process.

  6. Open enrollment

    Two weeks, typically

We run it — employee sessions, questions, forms, follow-up with anyone who hasn’t responded. Your team shouldn’t be chasing paperwork.

What we need from you: An introduction to your team. We take it from there.

  7. Through the year

    Ongoing

Employee questions come to us, not to you. New hires get onboarded, leavers get processed, and we start the renewal conversation early enough to do something about it.

What we need from you: A heads-up when someone joins or leaves.

Start at stage one

A first conversation costs nothing and commits you to nothing. If we’re not the right fit, you’ll know within half an hour.
